Today is Friday the 13th, so how can we let the day go by without a little tribute to one of the original low-budget scary movies that actually worked without being stupidly gory like newbie torture porn movies Saw and Hostel?

At the time I thought it was stupidly gory. It scared me to death. First Halloween, then Friday the 13th. That was enough thank you. I can't get Betsy Palmer out of my head.
You know, you're right--it was stupidly gory--it actually scared me, too, and Betsy Palmer was terrifying! I guess what I meant to say was that it was a movie that despite the gore at least had a plot and was not a vehicle made just for the sake of showing as much gore and torture as possible--which is how I see the Saw franchise.
